Renaissance woman Hélène Grimaud is not only a passionate pianist who performs with profound poetic expression and incomparable technical mastery. She is equally distinguished as a committed environmentalist, a compassionate human rights advocate, and an author.
Under the title “The Last Testament,” Hélène Grimaud devotes herself in the 2026/2027 season to two significant musical legacies of the piano repertoire: the final sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert. At the heart of her solo recital program are Beethoven’s monumental Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111, and Schubert’s deeply moving Piano Sonata No. 21 in B-flat major, D 960.
