The exhibit explores the “potential space,” space in which we allow ourselves to imagine, whether it is in play or other expressions of creativity, is an essential part of our being. Allowing ourselves to dwell in that space, in all parts of our life, including work, and in community. reclaiming our creativity and reclaiming play is a form of resistance and a means of thriving, personally and collectively.
Play and other creative acts are a lifeline that sustains hope. It is a means to reclaim agency and an assertion of our humanity, individually and collectively, in its complexity and beauty. It is a means of coming back to ourselves and envisioning together. A means of joy, a form of “energy for change,” (Audre Lorde)
