This event is an excellent opportunity to connect with experts, community members, and legal resources to ensure your voice is heard. ACORN is pleased to be partnering with lawyers at the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights to deliver this free workshop!
What You'll Learn
- Understand the responsibilities landlords are legally required to uphold regarding repairs & maintenance
- Learn how to document problems in your unit, communicate effectively in writing, and escalate issues if repairs are ignored.
- How to contact the City of Brampton (311 or 905-874-2000) for repair enforcement.
- Learn how ACORN advocates for tenant protections, like real rent control, landlord licensing, and updated Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) policies.
