About this Event
Description:
Our experiences, good and bad, supportive or traumatic, drastically impact every aspect of our lives, from personal interactions to professional aspirations.
Join us as we present the Brain Architecture game, a hands-on, group activity that will reveal how and why some children may struggle where others excel.
We will guide small teams through the three parts of the game: an introduction; the crafting of a model of a child’s brain; and a debrief discussion.
You’ll see—with your own eyes—how life’s experiences can have a significant impact on a child’s brain development. You’ll understand that with the right supports, young people who start off life in adversity can still thrive.
Prepare for your Ah Ha moments!
Brains don’t build themselves; it’s a team effort!
We can’t control what happens to us in life. With the right support introduced at the right stage of childhood, we can learn adaptive ways of dealing with stressful situations and avoid long-term consequences to our health and well-being.
Early interventions and support by caregivers and communities can help kids develop positive coping skills to buffer the effects of negative experiences. These resiliency skills will ensure kids are better equipped to deal with life’s challenges throughout their early years, youth, and adulthood.
