Mystic Bowie’s Talking Dreads reimagines the Talking Heads’ classic songs with a vibrant mix of roots reggae, ska, and lover’s rock. Since debuting in 2015, the Jamaican-born singer has energized audiences across North America, blending his musical heritage with the iconic band’s hits. Mystic’s passion for the Talking Heads began in his youth, later developing through a close relationship with band members Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth. Recorded in Jamaica, the album “Mystic Bowie’s Talking Dreads” features legendary reggae artists and delivers a fresh, joyous take on beloved songs. Beyond music, Mystic Bowie is dedicated to enriching Jamaican communities through his cultural and educational initiatives.
Season tickets for Boykin Series 27 will go on sale Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10 a.m. Season tickets must be purchased through the Wilson Arts Box Office by calling 252-291-329 or in person at the Wilson Arts Center, 204 Nash Street South.
