Boxed with Love: Nourishers' Circle Packing Day

This volunteer opportunity includes but is not limited to work on the following activities while on-site at Share’s warehouse:

● Senior Food Box Program: assembly line packing boxes of nutritious food for local seniors that fall below 130% of the poverty line. These boxes are distributed to over 7,300 seniors each month across the region.

● Share Care Package: line to pack boxes of nutritious food for pantry and community partners.

● Produce Sorting: taking donated or rescued fresh produce and preparing them for distribution via home delivery program.

● Car Packing: to aid our staff and home delivery drivers by packing the cars with the food boxes and produce that is being delivered to our program recipients.

● Housekeeping: any general cleaning, organizing, or assisting task that supports maintaining the warehouse

Attire

You are required to wear closed-toed shoes- sneakers/boots are preferred. Softer shoes such as plushy boots (Uggs) and Crocs are not allowed. We encourage all volunteers to dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather conditions. Wearing layers is recommended in colder months.

Expectations:

● The minimum age for warehouse volunteers is 13 years old. All volunteers under 17 years old must have a chaperone.

● You’ll be expected to lift products between 2-35lb boxes/items at a time during the packing process.

● Masks are optional on-site but can be provided upon request.

● Bringing a refillable water bottle is highly recommended.

Parking is available in the lower lot only. Please follow the parking signs. Free street parking is available on Allegheny Ave. when the lot is full.

Transportation/Parking:

Share is accessible through Septa routes 60, R, 1.

There is limited on-site parking available for volunteers. Carpooling and bussing are strongly recommended.

● There are parking spaces for volunteers in the lower lot located below the ReStore.

● On-street parking is also available along Allegheny Ave.
