LOOK! Box City Art program returns to Palatka! This is an extraordinary art and learning program that includes all disciplines for Children ages 6 and up. The kids come in and see a giant hand painted map of Palatka on the floor of the civic center.... Children pick out and purchase with Box City money their property where they want to build anything they can dream up! Participants choose from all recycled materials to build with and are furnished every possible thing they need to create shops, restaurants, fishing camps, the Ravine Gardens, city hall, schools, churches, homes, playgrounds, an aquarium on the river, animal shelters, theatres, hospitals and parks.
The imagination is nurtured at this program as well as learning about how a city works, landscape architecture, conservation, and more. City leaders will speak to the children every day about different aspects of a city. Snacks and drinks provided.
This is an experience unlike any other!
A wonderful opportunity for the children of our community to learn what it means to cooperate and build a dream together. Parents are encouraged to attend.
On Friday evening there will be a grand reception and opening of the city with the mayor that the children elect. The Mayor will cut the ribbon to the city. The public is invited to view what the children have created and enjoy the reception.

Cost is $100.00 per child $90.00 for Friends of Ravine Gardens.
