The Bowie Lions are collaborating with the City of Bowie to bring this annual free event to a bigger venue, in the cafeteria of Tasker Middle School. This year’s 56th Earth Day theme is Planet v. Plastic. Grab a coffee on your way in from the main parking lot, and come explore ways to live more sustainably. Our event begins with the city’s annual Green Citizen Award, and a welcome from local officials. We will have some wonderful door prizes throughout the day. - Talk to the City's Green team about composting and other programs.
- Ask a Bowie Lion about rain barrels and used book sales.
- Donate gently used clothing to our clothing drive
- Ask local experts about ways to improve your energy efficiency.
- Level up your indoor and outdoor gardening skills.
- Browse upcycled jewelry and crafts.
- Visit with our animal ambassadors.
- Meet a local children’s book author.
- Plant a seed.
