Both Sides of the Gun

Description: Both Sides of the Gun is an intensive, advanced-level training course that blends defensive pistol skills with critical medical response training. Students will learn to transition rapidly from a defensive/offensive mindset to a medical mindset, enabling them to respond effectively when someone is severely injured and bleeding out, while an active threat may still be present. This course equips participants with the tools, skills, and confidence to save lives in high-stress environments, making this capability not just a luxury but a necessity.

Course Content:

• Defensive Pistol Skills
• – Reinforce core defensive pistol fundamentals to respond to threats effectively.
• - IFAK Foundation
• – Build and utilize your Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) to address medical emergencies.
• IFAK – Emphasize preparedness by ensuring each participant trains with their own IFAK
• - Hemorrhage Control – Learn life-saving techniques to stop severe bleeding and increase survival rates.
• - Stress-Based Scenarios – Apply skills in stress-driven environments, including classroom drills and simulated shoot-house scenarios. 
• Requirements:
• Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK).
• - One Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT).
• - Water, notebook, and pen.
• - Clothing for movement: long pants, closed-toe shoes, long-sleeve shirt (expect dirt and stains; hoodie highly recommended).- Sturdy belt.
• No knives, firearms, or live ammunition permitted.

Simunition pistols, protective headgear, holsters, and training ammo will be provided (low round count focus; additional ammo available for purchase).

Students should already have foundational experience in both.A minimum of three enrolled students is required for the class to run. If fewer than three register, the class may be canceled or rescheduled.
