About this Event
On 5 September, Australia’s largest women-led samba circle is opening its space for an even bigger celebration: samba, reggaeton, Afro-Latin music, funk and more, honouring our music, our culture and the stories that crossed borders with us.
Boteco das Moças has never been just a samba group. It is a space for connection, resistance and women’s empowerment - especially for immigrant women who arrived in Australia carrying courage, longing, dreams and the strength to begin again.

💛 Samba de Moça - our women-led samba group.
💜 DJ Lady Chika - taking over the dance floor with a powerful mix of reggaeton, afrobeats and funk.
💛 Tygua Electroroots - a Colombian duo blending electronic music with the rhythms of the Afro-Colombian Caribbean diaspora. Organic percussion, ancestral flutes, tribal vocals and electronic beats come together in a truly unique experience.
💜 Mariu Meneses - an Afro-Latin dancer and performer celebrating her culture through movement, rhythm and powerful stage presence.
