Botanical Plaster Casting Workshop at Coughton Court Gardens

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your experience begins with a private guided tour of Coughton Court’s beautiful gardens, led by owner Imogen Throckmorton, whose family has cared for these grounds for generations. As you explore the vibrant borders and peaceful pathways, you’ll gather flowers and foliage to use in your design.

Back in the courtyard barn, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of creating your botanical cast. Learn how to prepare and roll out clay, arrange your chosen plants to capture their delicate textures, and cast your design in plaster to create a lasting impression.

While your cast sets (around 30 minutes), enjoy refreshments in the café or simply relax in the grounds before returning to reveal your finished piece — a beautiful, one-of-a-kind botanical artwork and a lasting reminder of your day at Coughton Court.

GOOD TO KNOW

This is a hands-on, creative workshop so please wear practical clothes & footwear that you don’t mind getting a little messy. Aprons will be provided for your use.

Each tile is created entirely by hand, using seasonal flowers that are ever changing. As with all handmade processes, results will naturally vary and perfect imperfections add to the unique character of your artwork.
