In this 2 hour hands-on workshop we'll learn a bit about the history of natural dyes and dye an organic cotton tote using the technique of bundle dyeing. We will utilize a variety of dye material including fresh and dried flowers, plant extracts, and kitchen waste to create a range of natural color!
Working with natural dyes is a practice in appreciating the slow process and letting go of expectations of a certain result- this art is all about experimenting and many plants will yield surprising colors. There are many lessons to be learned in the dye pot! This class is suitable for all skill levels and will be perfect for anyone looking to deepen their relationship with the natural world.
