Born from Breath is a creator series for dreamers ready to move.

Each gathering features an interview and performance by a local creative — followed by an open mic where you can share the project you’ve been imagining but haven’t yet brought to life.

Our inaugural guest is Poet Laureate Lynnette Johnson.

In October 2025, Lynnette debuted Bone Structure — a sold-out poetry concert blending live music and spoken word. Backed by a seven-piece band under the musical direction of Marquis “Mr. Qwes” Johnson, the evening became more than a performance. It was an art installation, a poetic conversation, a show, and a celebration. It asked audiences to lean in, listen deeply, and groove.

Now Lynnette is ready for the next step.

She plans to release Bone Structure to the world as both a film and an album. Editing, engineering, and post-production will bring the project fully to life — and she’s inviting patrons of the arts to help make that happen.

During this evening, Lynnette will share her creative journey, perform selections from the project, and open the mic to others who are ready to speak their own dream into the room.
