Starting point : Sitala Mandir on Garia Main Road - 3 minutes from Kabi Nazrul Metro Station (Garia Bazar) towards Boral
Boral in the southern fringes of the city awaits your arrival to share with you the history of this place from the Sen rulers of Bengal. This place is the home of a very unusual idol of Maa Tripursundari. Pather Panchali was shot here by the master director Satyajit Ray some 67/68 years back over a period of 3 years on a shoe string budget. Join us on this interesting exploration. We will show you:
* Adi Ganga channel
* Adi Garia Mahashashan (for old trade route connections)
* Maa Tripursundari Mandir
* The more than 900 hundred year old Sen Dighi
* Some objects found from the bed of the Dighi
* The place and area where Pather Panchali was shot (it will be quite interesting to locate the set as shown in this film, though much has changed over the years)
Tour Highlights:
After meeting at Garia Sitala Mandir, we will take you to the places by a reserved Auto (4 persons per Auto). The Auto will be parked at the closest proximity. The rest to be covered by walking. For any washroom requirements, there is a clean one for gents and ladies separately inside the Maa Tripursundari temple complex. We will provide breakfast from the local shops. This will be a totally guided tour.
