Boots on the Farm | A Muster Service Day
Good work. Good people. Good purpose.
Join The Muster for Boots on the Farm, a hands-on service day at Holy Roots Family Farm in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
We’ll start the morning with a tour of the farm before rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. Depending on what the farm needs that day, we may help with projects such as the turkey and hen houses, fencing, landscaping, general farm maintenance, and other hands-on tasks.
After the work is done, we’ll slow things down and gather together for an over-fire farm lunch featuring meats and locally sourced ingredients.
This isn’t about showing up perfectly polished. Come ready to work, get a little dirty, meet some animals, spend time outdoors, and connect with fellow veterans.

🔥 Farm Lunch — $15 per person
Choose from:
- Brat — Andouille, Rosemary Garlic, or Hot Italian
- Pork Chop
- Lamb Burger
Buns, locally sourced onions and peppers, condiments, cooking/eating utensils, and bottled water are included.
Participants may bring additional drinks or sides if desired.
🥾 What to Bring
- Work gloves
- Rubber boots or sturdy shoes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- A willingness to pitch in!
Advance registration is required. Participants will also need to complete the Holy Roots Family Farm waiver and submit the $15 lunch payment before the event.
