Girl with a Hawk is an American band formed in 2021. Fronted by singer/songwriter Linda Viens, the band includes Boston rock luminaries Richard Lamphear on keys, Dan Coughlin on guitar, Nancy Delaney on drums, and Daniel Bernfeld on bass. Described as “gorgeously emotive indie rock with Americana, garage, and punk roots, the band channels influences such as Tom Petty, Teenage FanClub, The Pretenders, Wilco and the Velvet Underground into a sound all their own: melodic, rich and 100% rock.” The band’s latest single, Way with Words, released on the band's label Rum Bar Records, has held steady in the top 10 spots on Indie Radio Stations across the US and the UK since its release on July 7. The band is currently recording at Panoramic House Studio in Stinson Beach, CA with their producer Pete Weiss, and has plans to release a new EP in September, 2025.
Speedfossil is the creation of singer/songwriter Garret Vandermolen, whose latest single, “Silver Lining” was described as “seriously great garage pop/rock track that is catchier than it has any right to be” (If It’s Too Loud, 2024). Recorded and mixed in one day at Abbey Road Studios in London, the single comes hot on the heels of Speedfossil’s new EP entitled Room With A VU, Vol.1, his debut release on Boston’s Sonic Escort label. Over five separate days in 2023, Garret worked with engineer and co-producer David Minehan (The Neighborhoods, The Replacements) at his Boston-based Woolly Mammoth studio, recording five songs. It was a reunion for Garret and David after a 25-year hiatus! Playing on the recordings are Michael Scotti (bass, vocals), Dan Jordan (guitar/vocals,) and Chris Walsh (drums). These musicians have all played with Garret at various Speedfossil gigs since 2016. As with all of Speedfossil’s previous releases, Garret handled vocals, guitars, keyboards, and some percussion.
One of the top purveyors of power pop, Speedfossil’s 2022 full-length, NO ANESTHESIA was lauded by fans and critics alike for clever songwriting and great pop hooks, and the live band has been described as a combination of “Randy Newman meets Husker Du,” with Garret’s songs drawing comparisons to those of Fountains of Wayne, The Replacements, and The Beatles. Musoscribe called the songs on NO ANESTHESIA “fist-pumping, convertible-top-down music that isn’t dumbed down for the masses. There’s an indie character to the songs, but musicianship and production are major league.”

Garret Vandermolen is a musician and music business veteran who has played many roles (recording/touring artist, record producer, label founder/manager, publisher, promoter, publicist, manager…) over his 35 years of contributing to the pop rock music world. Performing and recording out of Boston, MA as Speedfossil, Garret is the leader, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of this acclaimed power pop rock outfit. He has also briefly toured as bassist with garage pop rock powerhouse, Eddie Munoz of The Plimsouls, and Boston based power pop band, Glowbox. In addition to these musical efforts, he has found time to start a digital singles only, indie power pop label, The Sound Cove, as well as full length imprint, Sonic Escort, which released Speedfossil’s new EP, Room With A VU, Vol. 1, in April 2024.

The Cynz are a full-throttle rock band formed around the songwriting talents of Cyndi Dawson and Henry Seiz. The band has been called “the closest thing to the 1970s CBGB's you will get from a band that formed in 2011.”

THE CYNZ' influences derive from the late '70s Lower East Side NYC chainsaw music of the RAMONES and the tough, gritty vibe of The MC5, ALICE COOPER and MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS.
