Slow & steady writes the story! Join our free 3-part community writing series at local bookstores on Saturdays in April (4/11, 4/18/ 4/25).
About this Event

Slow and steady writes the story. Women Writing for (a) Change invites you to another Bookstore Crawl this spring! We're offering three free community writing circle series on Saturdays in April at three local bookstores. Collect stamps on your Library Checkout Card at each event. Attend all three circles and be entered into a raffle for a future class sampler.
Why the Snail? Snails have had many symbolic meanings across cultures, including patience, perseverance, and resurrection. We want to embrace the snail to help us all slow down and deepen our connections to community and self.
So this spring we once again invite you to explore ”Snailing down,” as in, to slow down significantly, moving at a very leisurely pace, like a snail, implying a deliberate and noticeable reduction in speed or activity level. What better way to do that than at our local independent bookstores, where we can savor words and writing and community?
Join us on the Bookstore trail, slow down, connect, and celebrate stories with us!
Attention! Save these dates...

  • April 11 will be the Happy Medium Bookstore in Riverside
  • April 18 will be at The Next Chapter in Avondale
  • April 25 will be at Cafe Resistance on the Northside
  • April 25 is also independent bookstore day, so stop by all the stores and support our local and women-owned bookstores!

All of these events and free and open to the general public. Anyone can attend so long as you love books, love to write, and love community! Hope to see you!
