This month we will read The Faint of Heart: A Graphic Novel (YA) by Kerilynn Wilson. It is set in a dystopian world where scientists discovered that all sadness, anxiety, and anger disappear when you remove your heart. And that's all it took. Soon enough, the hospital had lines out the door — even though the procedure numbed the good feelings, too. The story follows June, who refuses the procedure but now the pressure, loneliness, and heartache are mounting, and it’s becoming harder and harder to be the only one with a heart. She finds a heart in a jar abandoned in an alley, leading to an unexpected adventure with a heartless boy who is beginning to feel again.
