About this Event
Have a book that you keep pushing off reading?
Have reading assignments for school?
Wish that there was a weekly time that you could set aside for reading?
Can't commit yourself to writing that novel you started years ago?
Need more accountability?
Come to Books & Baroque, a weekly opportunity to read your own or our materials under candlelight while listening to gentle background music, recorded or live, while enjoying our lovely selection of fine, organic teas. If you need help writing your novel, peruse the books from our extensive selection on fiction-writing and write your story at the event. Feel free to read your poetry aloud for feedback as well. All are welcome.
The bookcase that David Geliebter and Hailey Reatz planned, planed, built, stained, and varnished specifically for Books & Baroque includes sections of comic books/ graphic novels, woodwork/ tools, fiction-writing, 31 Flame Tree Publishing Gothic Fantasy titles, sheet music/ music, cookbooks, art, manga, childrens' literature, reference books, Webster's Deluxe Unabriged Dictionary, and the Complete Shakespeare, but feel free to bring your own reading as well.
Mondays from 5:00-8:00 P.M. (except on Jewish holidays) in the YIBB social hall (basement).
The event takes place in the social hall of a synagogue, but it is not religious in nature. The room is essentially multi-purpose and the only connection of the room to Judaism is basically a few religious items on the side, a bookshelf of books by Jewish authors, and an Israeli flag.
Free, but donations are apprecaited. $18 donations get your name printed in the YIBB weekly bulletin, announcements, and picture frame with the list of that week's sponsors.
There is a wheelchair lift.
