About this Event
Join us for an intentional and engaging in-person gathering hosted by the NYC Hoodoo Society—a space rooted in hoodoo, conjure, and the exploration of spiritual systems across cultures and traditions.
This book club is more than a discussion group. It is a growing community centered on learning, exchange, and collective empowerment. Each gathering includes guided teaching, open dialogue, and space for reflection as we explore spiritual philosophy, history, and practical application.
For our upcoming meeting, we will be focusing on Gnosticism—its core principles, spiritual framework, and how its teachings can be understood and applied within personal practice. Participants are encouraged to select a book on the subject that resonates with them and come prepared to share insights, questions, or experiences.
What to Expect:
- Guided discussion and teaching on Gnosticism
- Open dialogue and shared perspectives
- A welcoming, intentional space for people of color
- Opportunities to deepen your spiritual understanding and practice
- Light refreshments
Preparation (Optional but Encouraged):
- Choose a book on Gnosticism
- Research the author to ensure credible, non-AI-generated work
- Begin exploring the fundamentals of the system
- Start or refine an ancestral altar
