Summer pride is coming Saturday, June 8th from 9:00-11:00pm at Caveat bringing you all the sexy spirit and must-reads of the season!
Featuring exciting award-winning and queer authors reading excerpts from their new books: Vanessa Chan “The Storm We Made” (debut novel), Rachel Nuwer “I Feel Love: MDMA and the Quest for Connection in a Fractured World” (history and science), Annie Liontas “Sex with a Brain Injury: On Concussion and Recovery" (memoir), Daniel Lefferts “Ways and Means" (debut novel), and Zoe Bossiere “Cactus: A Boyhood Memoir” (memoir).
Each author has been paired with a spectacular burlesque or drag performer who will be creating new acts inspired by the books they read! Starring Dorienne Dreadful, Rosie Tulips, Fortune Cookie, Professor M and C'etait BonTemps. With stage kittens Scarlet Song, Sideshow Scandal, and Racy DeClare. Co-produced by Rosie Tulips and hosted by Fortune Cookie!
Our local bookstore partner, Book Club Bar (197 East 3rd Street) will be selling signed copies of all our featured authors books.
