BookPeople Presents: Steena Hernandez - Lupita's Brown Ballet Slippers

Please welcome Steena Hernandez in a special storytime to celebrate the release of Lupita's Brown Ballet Slippers!

This event is free and open to the public.

The author will be signing and personalizing copies of the book after the speaking portion of the event.

• To get a book signed, a copy of the event book or an item of equal value must be purchased from BookPeople.

About the author:

Steena Hernandez resides in San Antonio, Texas with her family, and is a homeschool mother of two energetic children. She holds a BFA in theatre, music, and dance from Texas Tech University. Today she draws from her experiences, blending her proud Mexican American culture and deep family connection to write children’s stories. Steena is an active member of SCBWI and Julie Hedlund's 12x12 Picture Book Challenge, and has stories published in Little Thoughts Press and Highlights High Five Magazines. She was chosen as a 2022 Las Musas mentee, and is now a member of the the Las Musas collective. Her debut picture book, LUPITA'S BROWN BALLET SLIPPERS, will be released with Beaming Books October 2024. Most days you can find her curled up in a cozy spot reading with her children.
