About the book:

Retro Recipes: Vintage Dishes with a Modern Twist

Cook your way through the decades as Bobby Hicks revives nostalgic favorites with contemporary technique and flavor. Retro Recipes celebrates the dishes we grew up with — reimagined for today’s kitchens while preserving the charm, fun, and storytelling of vintage cooking.

About the author:

Bobby Hicks is a self-taught cook, videographer, and creator of the viral Retro Recipes Kitchen series, where he revisits vintage recipes and food trends from the early 1900s through the 1970s. A former bartender turned culinary historian, Hicks’ work bridges nostalgia and creativity, transforming forgotten dishes into culinary storytelling that millions have come to love online. His signature mix of curiosity, humor, and authenticity has earned him a devoted following across social media. He lives with his partner Keiko Lynn in S. Florida.

About the moderator:

André Natera, with 27 years of cooking with top chefs and running some of Austin's finest kitchens, now inspires upcoming chefs through his podcast, Chef’s PSA. He's won recognition in Dallas and Austin, and supports future culinary stars with his show, past projects like “Run the Pass,” and a book
series filled with advice and humor for cooks. His experience with leading culinary groups drives his mission to mentor and educate through Chef’s PSA, sharing his vast culinary knowledge and passion

By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business – you’re showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople.

Thank you for supporting Bobby Hicks, André Natera and your local independent bookstore!
