Join the Minnesota Historical Society’s Inclusion and Community Engagement team for a new event series, Booked on Thursdays! All are welcome to join us, get to know each other, and share reflections on a curated list of books by local Minnesota authors. Stories featured will emphasize themes of community resilience, resistance, and joy.
Whether you read a few pages, a few chapters, or finish the book, all are invited to participate. Each session will be an informal space to connect with people with shared interests related to the book themes and to learn about resources related to the history of communities and themes featured in the selected book. Our featured book this month is An Eye for an I: Growing up with Blindness, Bigotry, and Family Mental Illness by James Francisco Bonilla.
If you would like to request a free copy of a book included in the reading list, please email [email protected] after you register. We will have limited copies available upon request.
