๐ Based on her new book โTahrirโs Youth: Leaders of a Leaderless Revolutionโ, ๐ฅ๐๐๐ต๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ณ (@rushalatif) will challenge the commonly held belief that the 2011 Egyptian revolution was spontaneous and leaderless, and offer a new account of the revolutionaries. This timely presentation will not only illuminate the Egyptian uprisingโs leadership and organizational dynamics but also impart urgent lessons from the protagonists behind this historic movementโlessons for everyone hoping to achieve liberation and revolutionary change in the 21st century.
Rusha Latif is an Egyptian American researcher and writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She traveled to Cairo in 2011 to conduct ethnographic research on the uprising. Her interests span social movements and revolutions; the study of gender, class, and race/ethnicity; Islamic studies; and Middle Eastern studies.
