Join Carol Morgan Milberger, Ph.D., for a discussion of her debut memoir, MOLDed, which chronicles a mother’s surreal odyssey of loss, anxiety, and absurdity in a desperate effort to protect her family’s health while battling an unseen enemy: toxic mold. This overnight explosion of mold transformed their stable life into a suspenseful real-life horror story. After two years of remediation efforts, the family left everything behind to start anew in the Texas Hill Country twenty years ago.
Carol is a retired psychologist and management consultant who began writing to share her experience with toxic mold. Her essays have appeared in The New York Times, Wired, Next Avenue, Insider, and more. Carol and her husband built and operated Kerrville Hills Winery until 2020.
