Our Author Visits the Library is Rev. Dr. E-K. Daufin. A former full professor of multi-media communication at Alabama State University, Dr. E-K is the 2024 bell hooks Legacy Award and Mary-Ann Yodelis Smith Research Award winning author of the book, On Fat And Faith:Ending Weight Stigma in Yourself, Your Sanctuary and Society. Founder of the Love Your Body; Love Yourself™ workshops, she has done many Fat/Black/Women’s/Media Studies research and Spoken Word Poetry (also using dance, voice and instrumentation) presentations at libraries, theatres, universities and other venues in Alabama and across North and Central America. She has appeared on CNN, Alabama Public Radio, Alabama Public Television and her work has been published in academic journals, as well as ESSENCE magazine, the Los Angeles Times and other popular publications.
