About this Event
As part of The Lanesborough hotel's Literary Tea series in partnership with Rizzoli International Publications, this literary event will be with acclaimed author and architectural designer Ben Pentreath who will be discussing his new publication, An English Vision, in conversation with Giles Kime, Executive and Interior Editor of Country Life.
Ben Pentreath is an English architectural and interior designer who runs Ben Pentreath Ltd, a RIBA chartered practice, and Pentreath & Hall, which sells home furnishings. Country Life called him “one of the best country house architects in Britain".
Giles Kime is Country Life’s Executive and Interiors Editor of Country Life, and expert in interior design with decades of experience since starting his career at The World of Interiors magazine. Giles joined Country Life in 2016, introducing new weekly interior features, bridging the gap between architecture and gardening. He has interviewed leading design figures and has written a number of books on interior design, property and wine, the most recent of which is with the legendary interior designer Nina Campbell.
Ben Pentreath will discuss with Giles his design philosophy, inspirations and creative process. Known for blending classic English elegance with contemporary flair, Pentreath will discuss his approach to architecture, the role of tradition in modern design, and his renowned projects, including his work with the King. The conversation promises fascinating insights into his unique style, his passion for craftsmanship, and his views on the evolving world of interior design all illustrated with beautiful images from his new book.
The event will begin in The Lanesborough's Great Hall with a festive cocktail, where guests will have the opportunity to mingle with Ben and Giles. Guets will then adjourn to the elegant Belgravia Room for a selection of High Tea sweet treats and scones, the book talk and a Q+A with Ben, before finishing with a booksigning.
