Book Talk: A World We Share with Roger Berkowitz

In A World We Share: Hannah Arendt and the Power of Friendship in a Broken World, Roger Berkowitz draws on the life and thought of Hannah Arendt to explore how friendship, dialogue, and respect for plurality shape political life and democratic communities. Through an examination of Arendt's relationships and ideas, the conversation will consider what it means to sustain meaningful connections across disagreement in an age marked by polarization, loneliness, and civic division.

Professor Peter Goodrich of Cardozo School of Law will introduce the program, followed by a conversation between Berkowitz and Professor Anthony Sebok.

Roger Berkowitz is Founder and Academic Director of the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities and Professor of Politics, Philosophy, and Human Rights at Bard College. He is the author of The Gift of Science: Leibniz and the Modern Legal Tradition and host of the podcast Reading Hannah Arendt with Roger Berkowitz.
