Twelve years ago, the Jessup family up and left their home in the Atlanta suburbs for the small mountain town of Chancey, Georgia. Carolina had sworn she'd never live in a small town again, and yet there she was, with teenagers and a husband who had a dream to open a bed-and-breakfast for railfans. A dream he needed Carolina's help to make come true. Passive resistance was Carolina's comforting strategy, but she slowly came out from behind the invisible walls she had built (and decorated) and made Chancey home.
Then the teenagers of Chancey grew up and scattered-or stayed much too close to home. Those folks that thought they were old are now wishing they'd appreciated just how young they actually were. And a new senior living center is filling up with those who ran things not so long ago.
However, in New Day in Chancey, first book in the Chancy Futures series, Carolina is hiding behind thicker walls than ever.
But this time, she might actually have a good reason.
