We're excited to announce and promote our next Dine to Donate event happening at Magoo's Pizza (at the corner of Franklin & Southport roads)!This is a special event - all funds raised from this event will go toward providing Christmas gifts to 400 children in Cartagena, Colombia. The children in this area generally do not receive Christmas gifts due to economic hardship. Many of these children find their night’s rest on the sands of the beach. One child, when asked what they received for Christmas, responded that Grandma said the stores were too busy to purchase anything. Our friends at Joshua Center in Greenwood have been working with these families for years and have asked us to partner to provide each child with a book pillow as their Christmas gift. Joshua Center, along with additional community partners, is covering the cost of the books and the pillow inserts. A dentist is providing a toothbrush and toothpaste for each book pillow. Book Pillows of Hope volunteers will create the book pillow cover. Each book within the book pillow will hold one of our BPOH bookmarks translated into Spanish. We are raising funds to purchase the translated bookmarks. Any funds over the cost of the Spanish bookmarks will go toward supplies for letters and cards made by the community.
Please share this event with everyone you know! This event on August 19th is good for Dine-In (limited dining space) and Carry-Out. You can visit any time from 11 am - 8 pm.
