Fotoudstillingen ”Book of Births” er led i et længerevarende, fotodokumentarisk projekt af den engelske fotograf Luke Adekoya Campbell. Projektet giver et nærværende indblik i hverdagen på Rigshospitalet. (English below)
Med denne udstilling skaber fotografen et dybt personligt portræt af jordmoderen Sara, som i en periode bor hjemme hos ham selv og hans kæreste. Ved at kombinere observerende fotodokumentarisme med den personlige fortælling følger fotografen Saras daglige omsorgsarbejde på fødeafdelingen – ikke mindst hendes kærlige støtte til fotograf-familien selv og deres eget førstefødte barn.
Luke har tidligere på året stået for gruppeudstillingen ”Documentarian 1” galleriets officielle bidrag til Copenhagen Photo Festival. Læs mere om Documentarian Project Space på galleriets hjemmeside her.

Book of Births – a photo-documentary exhibition of a midwife
The exhibition “Book of Births” forms part of an extended, diary-like photographic project by British photographer Luke Adekoya Campbell, offering an intimate glimpse into daily life at Copenhagen’s main hospital, Rigshospitalet.
With this exhibition, the photographer creates a deeply personal portrait of midwife Sara, who for a time lived in his and his partner’s home. Blending observational photo-documentarism with personal narrative, Campbell follows Sara’s daily care work in the maternity ward – not least her loving support of the photographer’s own family and their firstborn child.
Earlier this year, Luke curated the group exhibition “Documentarian 1”, the gallery’s official contribution to Copenhagen Photo Festival. Read more about the Documentarian Project Space on the gallery’s website darkgallery.dk
