Valby Kino is excited to launch a brand-new concept: Yasmine Serroukh's Book Movie Club!
Yasmine is a polyglot who grew up between Morocco, Spain, and Italy before settling in Denmark ten years ago. She is married to a French gentleman, is the proud mother of an adorable baby, works in tech, and enjoys arts, games, and comedy.
Here's how Yasmine describes the club:
"The Book Movie Club is a hyggelig and fun community where we read a book at home, watch its film adaptation together at the cinema, and then chat about it over snacks. It's perfect if you're looking for motivation to read more, discover new genres, or simply meet fellow book and film lovers."
The Book Movie Club meets every other month, on the last Wednesday of the month.
Our very first gathering takes place on Wednesday, July 29 at 5:00 PM, featuring one of the greatest stories ever told: Homer's The Odyssey and its spectacular new film adaptation directed by Christopher Nolan, starring Matt Damon as Odysseus.
Whether you've read The Odyssey before or are discovering it for the first time, everyone is welcome!
