Book Launch - The Chestnuts: Bricks and Medicine
About this Event
Join author Dr Paul Staker for an in-person book launch celebrating the fascinating history of Chestnuts Surgery and family medicine in Sittingbourne.
The Chestnuts: Bricks and Medicine
Discover the story of 70 East Street, from its Huguenot bricks and Victorian doctors to its formidable receptionists and the dreaded Plessey!
The event will include a 30-40 min illustrated talk by Dr Paul Staker, as a taster for what to expect in the book, followed by a book signing. It promises to be a fascinating journey through 133 years of family medicine at Chestnuts Surgery, celebrating the people, characters and stories that have shaped its history.
Admission to the presentation is free with the purchase of a book on the night.
Book price: £15 - or if you want just the talk, that will be £5 on the door, when you reserve a ticket via Eventbrite.
All proceeds will go to the Historical Research Group of Sittingbourne (HRGS), helping us to keep local history alive for future generations!
