About this Event

Join us for the launch of Renoviction and Resistance in the Capitalist City (Between the Lines, 2026) featuring authors Cole Webber and Philip Zigman in conversation with Kevin Laforest.

This event will feature a discussion of the book, and a Q&A with the speakers, ending with a book signing and mingling period. Light refreshments will be served. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

About the Book
Countering the narrative that the renovicting landlords are just a few bad apples acting in bad faith, this book exposes the structures of displacement enabled by the state and perpetuated by rental housing reforms.

About the Speakers

Cole Webber is a community legal worker at Parkdale Community Legal Services in Toronto.

Philip Zigman is a co-creator of RenovictionsTO.

Kevin Laforest is a housing lawyer at a community legal clinic in Toronto, Ontario.
