Join us to celebrate the release of "The Last Real Place," the long-awaited sequel to "A Copperhead Summer" in The Camp Itawa Mystery Series. We will have prizes and giveaways to celebrate the occasion!
In "The Last Real Place" – Another summer is over at picturesque Camp Itawa in the Appalachian Mountains of north Georgia. While most of the camp counselors return to their respective schools in the fall, Stoney St. Ney stays on in his off-season position as handyman to the camp owners. When Stoney’s new love interest, Abby, finds her teaching position in North Carolina’s Nanotla High School fraught with danger, he drops everything to travel north to ensure her safety. A shooting has taken place in the school library, and the two accused students have escaped to nearby Smoky Mountains National Park. When the local police fail to find the shooters, it’s up to Stoney and his Cherokee mentor, Bobby Whitehorse, to track them down.

This event is open to the public and Mark is looking forward to seeing many of his Atlanta/Decatur area friends and students.
Bio: Mark Warren is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Georgia. At Medicine Bow, his nationally renowned wilderness school in the mountains of Dahlonega, GA, he teaches nature classes and primitive survival skills. In 1980, The National Wildlife Federation named him Georgia’s Conservation Educator of the Year. In 1998 Mark became the U.S. National Champion in whitewater canoeing, and in 1999 he won the World Championship Longbow title.
Mark has written extensively about nature for local and national magazines and has researched Western frontier history for more than 50 years presenting at museums and cultural centers around the country. He has 18 traditionally published books. He has been honored by the Spur Awards, The Historical Novel Society, the Will Rogers Medallion Awards, The New Mexico – Arizona Book Awards, and in 2022 Mark was honored with a Georgia Author of the Year Award for his book Song of the Horseman (Literary Fiction Finalist.) Mark was nominated for Georgia Author of the year this year for his book "A Copperhead Summer."
