About this Event
Join Ulises and The Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College for the launch of the exhibition catalog for Enrique Bostelmann: Apertures and Borderscapes, on view at the Museum until December 15. The catalog brings together the most recent scholarship and extensive interviews with the artist’s family with rich reproductions of the artist’s experimental and pioneering photography. This bilingual catalog explores the depth and breadth of Bostelmann’s career which traversed the political borders of the American continent and the aesthetic borders of photography.
During the book launch there will be a screening of Making Apertures and Borderscapes, a documentary film produced by the Berman Museum, which explores Bostelmann’s career through additional interviews with Mexican art historians and critics and brings viewers inside the artist’s studio and extensive oeuvre. Following the screening the filmmaker, Bernardo Morillo, and the exhibition’s curator, Deborah Barkun, will discuss the process of making the film, the exhibition, and the catalog.
