Join us for the launch of , the first volume-length appreciation of Lewis Carroll’s oft-neglected Wonderland sequel, at the college of the stories’ creator.
In short provocations, volume editor Dr Franziska Kohlt, and contributors including Prof Adam Roberts, Dr Karen Gardiner, Dr Nick Coates, and Catherine Richards, will discuss the influences of Victorian scientific and religious cultures on Looking-Glass, and its afterlives in Victorian and Georgian theatre, and contemporary business thinking and teh creative process of pastiching Carroll's Jabberwocky.
A subsequent discussion will think, more broadly about the value and potential of interdisciplinary, collaborative scholarship in the present day, as well as the unique longevity and cultural capital of Carroll’s Alice.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase on the evening, which will be followed by a wine reception.
Venue: Christ Church, Upper Library
Entry via the Porter's Lodge at Tom Gate (St Aldates).
Time: 6pm (doors)
Travel: There is no on-site or nearby street parking; paid parking is available at the nearby Westgate Shopping Centre and buses operate to and from the several Park & Ride services.
Accessibility: The event will take place in the first floor of the library, to which there is no lift access
