This poignant memoir recalls author Javier Zamora’s harrowing journey from El Salvador to the United States, making the dangerous trek alone at nine years old. Solito is a raw and powerful exploration of the immigrant experience, particularly for unaccompanied minors, while highlighting the courage and hope that define the journey of many seeking safety and a better life. This title is Kalamazoo Public Library’s Reading Together selection for 2025.
