In Out of Places, Amy Le Ann Richardson navigates the landscapes of memory, identity, and belonging with haunting clarity. Through vivid imagery and lyrical precision, Richardson explores the spaces where we are most lost and where we find ourselves—whether in the quiet corners of a family farm or in the shifting terrain of personal history. These poems engage with the complexities of rural life, environmental change, and the nuanced connections between people and place. At once intimate and expansive, Out of Places is a poignant reflection on how we are shaped by the places we inhabit and, in turn, how those places shape us.
Amy Le Ann Richardson holds a Bachelor’s in English from Morehead State University (2007) and an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University (2009). She is the author of two poetry chapbooks, Make Believe Worlds We Built Together (Bottlecap Press, 2023) and Who You Grow Into (Finishing Line Press, 2024), as well as a full collection, Out of Places (Pine Row Press, 2025). Her poetry has appeared in journals such as Pine Mountain Sand & Gravel, Kentucky Monthly, and Still: the Journal. A passionate advocate for both art and the environment, Amy currently resides on her family farm in Carter County, Kentucky, where she writes, grows food, and actively engages with her community.
