Welcome to Book Club Southport — a relaxed, friendly evening of great books, good conversation, and your favourite drink.
About Us
Book Club Southport is a welcoming group of book lovers who meet regularly to chat about our latest read, share our thoughts, and enjoy a drink together.
Whether you prefer reading the book, listening to the audiobook, or joining the discussion after a little last-minute catch-up — you’re very welcome.
There’s no pressure to be an expert reader or have a perfectly formed opinion. We’re here to enjoy books, discover new favourites, and have a lovely evening with fellow book lovers.
So grab a drink, pull up a chair, and let’s dive into the world of books together. We can’t wait to see you there!
Format
We start at 7:30pm.
We’ll go around the group, giving everyone the chance to share their thoughts on the book — no pressure, just as much or as little as you’d like to contribute.
After that, we’ll move into some fun and interactive discussion questions before opening things up for a more relaxed chat, comparing thoughts, opinions and scores with the wider Little Library Marshside book club community.
At the end of the evening, we rate the book using anonymous smartphone voting, so everyone can be completely honest — no peer pressure!
We usually wrap up around 8:30pm, but you’re very welcome to stay afterwards for a drink, a chat, and a little more book talk.
Connection to LLM Book Club
Book Club Southport is affiliated with Little Library Marshside Book Club (LLM Book Club). Established in 2021, LLM Book Club has a waiting list to join. Book Club Southport acts as a taster group, giving attendees first opportunity to join LLM Book Club if places become available. We read the same book and follow the same discussion format, and you’re welcome to suggest future reads for consideration.
