Book Bar off the Shelf: Kevin Hardcastle & Lynn Hutchinson Lee
About this Event
Join us for an evening of conversation exploring the landscapes, histories, and complicated family ties that shape Southern Ontario Gothic literature.
As part of Book Bar's Off the Shelf series, award-winning authors Kevin Hardcastle and Lynn Hutchinson Lee come together for a guided conversation examining the themes at the heart of their latest novels, County Road Six and Nightshade. Through stories rooted in rural Ontario, the discussion will explore the dynamics of generational trauma, chosen family and community, the experience of womanhood, and the lingering effects of Canada's colonial history on both people and place.
Set in the intimate atmosphere of The Green Room, this conversation will offer readers a deeper look into how landscape, memory, and identity intersect within contemporary Canadian fiction, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
Whether you're a longtime reader of Canadian fiction or simply curious about the stories that emerge from the roads, towns, and communities around us, join us for an evening of thoughtful conversation, literary discovery, and connection.
Presented in partnership with Penguin Random House Canada and Assembly Press.
