Celebrating Celtic music is a tradition for the month of March, as the world celebrates St Patrick's Day. Shanahy, the longest-running Celtic music ensemble in the Intermountain West, presents Bonny Celtic Moon, an annual event of music from Ireland, Scotland, and related music. Shanahy consists of Andrew Morrill on Scottish lowland pipes and whistles, Kate MacLeod on vocals, fiddle, and acoustic guitar, Bronwen Beecher on vocals and fiddle, Mark Hazel on vocals and acoustic guitar, and Bob Smith with his traditional bodhran and eclectic percussion. Brian Dobson will be joining Shanahy as special guest on whistles and bodhran.

Opening the evening concert will be Finch and the Magpies, featuring Marissa Giles, Brock Pate, and Clyde Ellis. The trio's repertoire ranges from jigs and reels older than your great great grandpa, to music you'd hear released last year.

The Alliance Theater is on the second floor, at the SW corner of the Trolley Square complex. There is parking in the mall garage parking lots underneath the theater space (approach from the SW corner, as well as surrounding street parking. Find out more about parking in the FAQ section.

SUNDAY MARCH 15
WORKSHOP: 1pm-3pm THE ART OF CELTIC MUSIC
1pm-3pm. This demonstration workshop will feature some of the musicians who will be performing in the evening concert. Learn about the instruments, and the unique sounds and stylings that express this rich musical tradition. Both informative and entertaining, this is a great event to bring the family to. Under 16 are free.
$20 p/Adult, 16 and under free. Open seating, no assigned seats.

SUNDAY MARCH 15
EVENING CONCERT: 6pm-8pm
6pm-8pm Finch and the Magpies open the concert at 6pm, followed by a short intermission. Shanahy will perform the remainder of the concert.
$30 p/Person, no children under 12. Open seating, so assigned seats.

At the evening event, the venue has a bar. Beer only.
