Live in The Lot is Culture Lab’s free summer concert series. Bonegasm is a contemporary jazz ensemble led by New York-based bass trombonist Jennifer Wharton. Established in 2017, the group is best known for its all-trombone lineup backed by a rhythm section that reimagines the trombone's role in modern jazz.
The name "Bonegasm" is a playful portmanteau and is officially defined by Wharton as: "a climax of musical excitement, characterized by feelings of pleasure centered in the ears and experienced as an accompaniment to hearing a group of trombone players."
