Level: Confident Beginner
This class is ideal for anyone who wants to try their hand at garment-making. If you know how to sew a straight line, can follow a seam allowance, and have recent experience using a sewing machine, you are ready to go! It is necessary that you come with your fabric washed, with your pattern pieces cut out. We will spend most of our time creating bias binding and learning how to attach it to the neckline. We will not have time to trace and cut the pattern pieces in class. If you are not sure how to read a pattern or cut out your size and pieces properly, we recommend attending our What to Know Before You So Informational garment-sewing class beforehand, or scheduling a private lesson.
Price: $75.00
This includes 3.5 hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our machines and equipment in the sewing classroom, and a copy of the Sew to Grow: Bondi Top pattern. Fabric for the top will need to be purchased ahead of time, and will include a 20% discount if bought from Chateau Sew. The fabric requirements for this pattern range from 1.5 to 2 yards depending on size. The physical pattern includes US sizes 8 to 22. Should you want to make extended sizes, please contact Laura!

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no later than end-of-business on the business day proceeding class.
In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration and use the credit towards a future class within 6 months.
Payments must be made in advance to secure your spot.
No refunds or rescheduling for students who do not show or cancel the day of class.

Skill Details: You will get experience with creating bias tape and finishing a neckline with binding
Materials Included: Pattern, 3.5 hours of instruction, use of machines, tools and classroom space
Requirements: You must be confident using a sewing machine, sewing an accurate seam allowance, and capable of threading the sewing machine unassisted. You must have your garment pieces cut out in advance of class.
