About this Event
Roddy MacKenzie's father served in Bomber Command during the Second World War, but unlike so many brave veterans who survived the war, he seldom spoke of his exploits. When Roddy tried to learn what his father achieved, he discovered the Allies were unclear about what Bomber Command accomplished because our intelligence inside Nazi Germany was poor. He also discovered that one out of every four Canadians killed in uniform in WWII died in Bomber Command. To uncover the truth, Roddy turned to the Germans who reveal how effective Bomber Command was as a war-winning weapon and that it was vital to victory in our defeat of the Third Reich.
"Bomber Command: Churchill’s Greatest Triumph" provides an in-depth look at this critical element of Canada's WWII offensive.
Books will be available for purchase at the event ($60 cash or cheque only).
