Experience an unforgettable floral journey this October 2026 as internationally acclaimed award winning Master Florist Timo Bolte from the UK, visits South Africa for the first time. Hosted by Yes! exclusive flowers, this three-part event celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and connection through flowers at the start of peony season. Please note that you will have to book individually for the separate three events you want to attend.
Part One: Peony Farm Visit & Lunch – 25 October 2026, 11am–3pm
Meet and greet with Timo Bolte, enjoy a peony farm visit, learn more about the process of growing peonies in South Africa and have a traditional South African Braai experience "spit braai" (open fire BBQ) in the peony fields including limited local wine, soft drinks, coffee, tea and a glass of bubbly at arrival. End the afternoon with likeminded peony lovers by taking a bunch of peonies* home. (*5 stems/person; colors as per availability)
Dress Code: Outdoor event ready, farm chic; boots will get dirty

Who is Timo Bolte?
Even when Timo Bolte was just a kid, he was fascinated by plants. It started with plants in his own garden in Germany and helping out in his friend´s nursery, and finally ended up as an apprentice with well known German floral designer and educator known for his innovative and artistic approach, Gregor Lersch. He worked together with Gregor Lersch for many years. But there´s a lot more he wanted to know about plants, every detail about them, and so he did his citizen´s service in the Botanical Gardens oft he University of Tübingen. After his citizen´s service he gave professional demonstrations on a freelance basis, among others for the Taiwan Orchid Growers Association. The urge to explore the unknown drove him to set off for the Far East. He had the good fortune to familiarise himself with Asian plant traditions and Asian plant culture as Senior Designer with Hibiya Kadan Floral Design in Tokyo. After that, he set off spending a little time in Paris, to acclimatise himself once more in Europe, where he was then the lead florist for 4 years at the Ritz Carlton in Vienna. He also undertook photo projects, events and classes in Europe, Russia, Taiwan and across countries in the Middle East.
Today, Timo Bolte is a renowned international floral designer known for his elite event installations, making him a trusted partner for international royal families. As co-founder of BOLTE Event Design, his career includes major international milestones such as working with royal and celebrity clientele, finals at qualify for the Interflora Fleurop World Cup for Germany, winning the Special Prix of the Jury in Tokyo and collaborating with luxury fashion houses like Chanel and Fendi.
