Bognor Regis is one of England's oldest, and traditional, seaside resort in West Sussex, having begun its transformation from fishing village to seaside resort in the 1780s. Its long flat seafront is perfect for that most traditional of seaside occupations - strolling along the prom! There are traditional rides and amusements and some delightful parks and gardens. There are many lively seafront cafes, bars and pubs which give it a very relaxed atmosphere. Situated in a delightfully sunny spot on the seafront with extensive lawns and superb views over the English Channel, the Royal Norfolk Hotel is an exceptional Regency building dating from the 1830’s.
The location of Bognor Regis makes it unique; not only has it been officially named the sunniest town in Britain, it is very close to the South Downs National Park, with its beautiful Sussex countryside castles and country houses all just a short distance away.
The hotel features a large restaurant, relaxing bar lounge and an entertainment room with a dancefloor.
The hotel also has an outdoor terrace, where you can soak up the sun, enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. The lift serves all floors.
The hotel looks over its own extensive gardens on to the beach which is predominantly pebbly with clean and inviting waters. There is an attractive promenade separate from the road which makes walking along the prom a real pleasure! The town centre shops are approximately 10 minutes' walk from the hotel and the pier is just 250 metres away.
Hotel information: There are only two small steps to negotiate at the hotel entrance. The hotel has seven ground floor rooms although none of these have sea views. Each of the upper bedroom floors is divided into two levels and it is necessary to ensure mobility impaired clients are allocated rooms on the side of the hotel which can be directly accessed from the lift. Please ensure you submit a special requirements form if you have any mobility difficulties which may affect your holiday. Please note that no specific rooms are guaranteed until confirmed with the hotel. Many of the bedrooms have spectacular views (additional costs).
Cosy doubles are only suitable for single occupancy, as although it is a double bed, the room is smaller with a narrow wardrobe & 1 bedside cabinet.
Superior Double: A larger room, nicer furnishings and has a large smart tv, fridge, safe, iron and ironing board, luxury hot drinks and biscuits. Also has a sea view.
