A sonic perambulation exploring our changing relationship to the Irish peatlands.
About this Event

Bog_Scape is a site-responsive audio work that weaves together interviews, field

recordings, and original composition to explore our changing relationship with the Irish peatlands. In this intimate soundscape, the bog is approached as a form of sonic architecture - an environment continually produced through the overlapping forces of ecology, labour, and human presence. The work considers how listening might become a democratic practice and how landscapes themselves can function as spaces of assembly.

Created in collaboration with two dierent peatland communities, the work creates a temporary sonic assembly in which dierent relationships to place are allowed to coexist. For Architecture at the Edge, audiences are invited to walk together while listening to the soundscape before gathering in conversation.

Created as part of the 2025 Artist in Residence programme for the Bog Bothy project, led by the Irish Architecture Foundation and 12th Field.
