The concept is rooted in the understanding that trauma is not only a psychological event but also a physical one that can be stored in the body’s tissues, muscles, nervous system, and energy field. Over time, these unresolved traumas can manifest as chronic pain, anxiety, tension, depression, or other physical or emotional symptoms.
This workshop is an experiential healing opportunity to release trauma stored in the body through the BTL approach. Somatic processing integrates the mind-body connection to help individuals release tension, stress, and trauma from a physical and energetic level.
What are the key components of somatic processing?
Somatic Awareness:
Participants are guided to tune into their bodies to recognize areas of tension, pain, or numbness, as well as safe, comfortable body spaces.
Trauma Releasing Techniques:
Specific somatic exercises may be used to release trauma, such as gentle stretching, shaking, and movement practices.
Breathwork:
Controlled breathing exercises can be employed to activate the body’s natural healing mechanisms, calm the nervous system, and process physical sensation.
Emotional Expression:
Participants will be guided to express emotions, such as anger, grief, or fear through vocalizations, movement, or other forms of release.
Grounding and Centering:
Grounding exercises are often included to help participants reconnect with the present moment and their body.
Safe and Supportive Environment:
A safe container is created to ensure that participants feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions and sensations.
Integration:
After the BTL practice, participants will be invited to share their experiences, reflect on insights, and engage in journaling.
